indoor percussion
The Indoor Percussion Ensemble participates in the MPAA/MIA Circuit alongside Winterguard groups, operating from the November until April. While primarily for percussion students, non-percussionists may audition. Wind players who demonstrate satisfactory progress on their primary instrument are eligible to audition. Wind players who make the ensemble must also continue their instrumental studies in a regular band class with specific performance contract requirements set forth by the Director. Similar to Winterguard, there is an additional financial obligation for students in this ensemble, determined at the beginning of the season based on show design, performances, and membership. Students may only participate in Independent ensembles if Biloxi HS does not have a competitive unit, a determination made each year in October/November. No exceptions are made for students to participate in any outside ensembles while BHS has an active Marching/Concert group. Biloxi HS and its Band program must be students' top priority. No waivers will be signed by Administration or Directors once a student has auditioned or participated in rehearsals for any season. Students may be ‘sidelined’ for any performance if their financial status is unsatisfactory. (no deposit paid prior 1st competition, outstanding ‘band fees’ prior to auditions, having any remaining balance before championships)
