Concert Band – Concert Band is the entry-level concert ensemble for students with previous instruction on wind or percussion instruments who have participated with the Spirit of Biloxi. The instrumentation may vary for this ensemble, which will determine the selected literature for performances. This ensemble focuses on fundamentals, including tone, technique, and reading. This ensemble is particularly beneficial for students who need more one-on-one attention, or a student who may have limited playing experience. Private study is highly encouraged for members of this ensemble. The Concert Band is a class that meets (for credit) throughout the entire year and performs at events such as: Winter Concert, Biloxi Concert Night, Concert Assessment (Spring), Prism, Spring Concert (May). 

Symphonic Band – The Symphonic Band is a select group of individuals with specific instrumentation that have participated with the Spirit of Biloxi or were chosen based on their audition performance. Membership is by audition only. It consists of modern wind band instrumentation and provides instruction in common-practice period and 20th century wind literature. Private study is highly encouraged for members of this ensemble. The Symphonic Band is a class that meets (for credit) throughout the entire year and performs at events such as: Winter Concert, Concert MPA (Spring), Prism, Spring Concert (May).

Wind Ensemble – This premier ensemble is made up of individuals who participated in the Spirit of Biloxi and were chosen based on audition performance. Membership is by audition only. The repertoire is extensive, and private study is highly encouraged. Wind Ensemble meets for credit throughout the year and performs at events like the Winter Concert, Concert MPA (Spring), Film Music Concert, Prism Concert, Spring Concert (May) and Graduation. Members must participate in one event for Solo & Ensemble or participate in an auditioned Prism event during the Spring. Membership in the Wind Ensemble is not necessarily permanent, and students may be subject to challenges, re-auditions, and/or moved to a different ensemble based on preparation, attitude, and effort. 

Members of the Wind Ensemble are additionally required to audition for the GCBDA Honor Band. This ensemble will also have additional after school rehearsals in during the Spring Semester.
